Almaty Hosts Roundtable for Digital Financial Assets Market Participants
On October 15, 2026, Almaty hosted the Digital Financial Assets Roundtable by Kazakhstan Fintech Network, a closed-door roundtable discussion for participants in the digital financial assets market of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The event was organized by the Fintech Center.
The roundtable brought together executives from companies representing key market segments: digital asset service operators and providers, stablecoin issuers, custodians, payment organizations, exchange and depository infrastructure institutions, as well as second-tier banks.
The program opened with a presentation of the report "Digital Financial Assets in Kazakhstan," prepared by the Fintech Center based on a survey of participants in the regulatory sandbox of the National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan. A report on the challenges faced by DFA market participants in Kazakhstan was also presented.
Further discussion focused on three key areas: the role of cooperation in the emerging market, building a client base and trust in the industry, and establishing a partnership dialogue between the market and the regulator. Participants discussed interaction with the financial system, the development of industry standards, legal certainty, and improving financial literacy. In addition, they explored prospects for attracting investments, including foreign capital.
"The digital financial assets market in Kazakhstan is in its formative stage, and participants can only solve many of its development challenges together. The roundtable demonstrated that the market already shares a common understanding of key issues and a readiness to jointly develop solutions," noted Dias Savetkanov, CEO of the Fintech Center.
Following the meeting, participants agreed to continue their work on an ongoing basis.
